Why music for seniors?
My primary passion and goal is to perform solo music for people where it is highly meaningful; to me, that includes retirement and nursing homes, hospitals and senior community centers.
Listening to music can:
Enhance one’s sense of well-bring and lessen feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Trigger good memories and enable a personal experience with meaning and emotion
Calm and regulate blood pressure and respiration rates
Have a healing effect, reducing stress and anxiety, which may enhance immune function
In my Senior Music Program, the resonant sound of the marimba is not only stimulating but also healing. Whether warm and soothing with soft mallets in the lower register or highly visual with mallets flying across a wide range of keys, it captures the imagination of the listener. Residents also participate in some of the pieces with a variety of percussion instruments!
My passion is to present a stimulating, inspirational and meaningful experience for the listeners. I look forward to any opportunity to share this very unique program.

How long is the program and how is it structured?
Programs may vary from 45 - 60 minutes (depending on what works best for your residents). Throughout the program, I present enlightening histories of the pieces and informative background to the marimba and vibraphone. A portion of the program is dedicated to the whole group making music together!
What instruments do you play during the program?
I focus on marimba and vibraphone for the performance portion of the program. Residents are then given the opportunity to join me on the Latin tunes with a diverse assortment of percussion instruments I bring: professional quality maracas, claves, guiros, tambourines, and more!
What does your pricing include?
The program is priced at $150, which includes carting instruments, set up, and the refreshing experience for your residents! Please note, I will appreciate a staff member to help unload and load the marimba and vibraphone from my vehicle.
Do you offer a similar program for other types of groups?
Yes! Contact me and we can work something out. For example, I can offer an abbreviated program, including hymns, for church women's groups.
